Conclusions...

So our 2014 Europe Tour has come to its inevitable conclusion and what a journey it has been and what an extraordinary group of travellers you all proved to be!

May I take this opportunity on behalf of the organising and accompanying teachers and your schools to congratulate you on the manner in which you conducted yourselves and for the positive and enthusiastic way in which you participated in and engaged with all activities and of course each other. I know you have made many wonderful new friendships and have shared an amazing and unique learning opportunity that you will continue to reflect upon for a long time to come.

As you return to your homes, your families and your individual schools to continue planning and preparing for your HSC and the bright futures that I am confident lie ahead I would like to end by referring to my favourite travel quote. “The world is an open book, those who do not travel read but one page!”

Farewell for now, keep in touch and of course, read on…..

Cheers
R Macey

Thanks everyone for their support and for their patience with this travel blog. There has been some outstanding feedback by many people, and it has been a pleasure to hear. It has also been a privelege to travel with such fine young adults and document some of their experiences here.

All the best in the future.
B Nicol

Catch up dinner

Last week many of our travellers enjoyed a meal together to catch up and reflect in the trip. It appears a great time was had by all and this is perhaps and hopefully the first of many catch ups that will occur into the future.

Welcome home everyone!

Hello all, sorry about the delay we have been meaning to send a welcome back message out to all. We hope that everyone has had the opportunity to share their stories, show their photos and overcome jet lag over the last week. Again we'd like to mention that all students should be congratulated for their excellent behaviour, conduct and mature attitudes while on tour. It was a pleasure to see these young adults conducting themselves responsibly and having a ball!

We would also like to share some of the images from the BWSC Anzac Day service that took place this Wednesday. Our school made the decision to delay the service so that our Europe Tour students could share some of their experiences of the battlefields, platoon experience and Anzac Day service we participated in while away. Our students did a fantastic job speaking and giving readings during the ceremony.

Mr Macey, Mr Nicol, BWSC School Captains and many of the BWSC Europe travellers on the stage of the Anzac Day service.

Unfortunately we only have images from BWSC here, if anyone else from other schools students and teachers alike please forward them to ben.nicol2@det.nsw.edu.au and I will try to make them available to all.

I am also working on a method so that a photo-swap can occur between all schools so that we all have access to the collection of all photos taken from the trip. Information on this will become available soon.

Finally, stay tuned in the coming days for a final remark from our fearless leader Mr Macey to conclude the Europe Tour Blog.

Last night in Europe!

After a long and exhausting day full of activities we returned to our accommodation to sign the flags, there are four so that each school will be able to display them. Some students were willing to brave the rain and go out once more as a final goodbye to Paris.

Dressed up to go out for one last crepe and to experience Paris at night.

What a gentleman, giving up his coat for the lady.

It has been an amazing trip, but in a few short hours we'll be heading for the airport and then home. See you all soon!

Last day in Paris and last touring day of the trip!

Another big day full of activities to fill up the last touring day of the trip before we leave for Sydney. We went shopping at Galleries Lafayette, had an extended lunch at Sacré-Cœur including a stroll through Monmatre the artists precinct of Paris, then to Champ de Mars for another look at the Eiffel Tower and some photographs. It was also Mrs Burraston's birthday today, we all sang for her this morning a cake is organised for later and we enjoyed a delicous meal at outside Sacré-Cœur.

Disneyland and Eiffel Tower by night

Today students and staff enjoyed a day at Euro Disneyland. Here are just some images from the day.

After Disneyland we went straight to the Eiffel Tower to see the city by night. It was also "Silly Hat Night" we all wore interesting hats bought throughout our trip so far.
