Leaving Ypres, touring through Allied War Memorials, Cemeteries and Battlefields

This morning we left early from Ypres and visited many different memorials, cemeteries and battlefields. Some teachers and students were able to find the final resting place of relatives or relatives of friends. After which we arrived at our accommodation. We will be having an early night tonight as we will all be getting up at 2:30am tomorrow to attend the Dawn Service at Villers Bretonneux.

Beside the Menin Gate in Ypres, our hosel wa directly behind the gate on the right.

Thiepval Memorial containing the names of 76, 000 names of allied soldiers missing in the Somme during WWI.

In the playground of Villers Bretonneux's Victoria School. ANZACS retook the town after German invasion in WWI and the people have remained eternally grateful. They still sing the Australian National Anthem every week, have this reminder in their playground and have a museum about ANZACS in the upper level of their school.
